Modelling since she was 14 years old, Ana from South America (Venezuela) won the local beauty contest and was almost immediately catapulted to the catwalk. Studying medicine, Ana knew at the age of four that life under the arc lights would be her career of choice. “From a young age I started competing in contests and pageants, so I’m very comfortable under the spotlight, in fact I enjoy it. Also the exposure you get travelling and experiencing new cultures is what keeps me motivated,” she adds.

Standing tall at five feet nine inches, Ana has admired fellow South American Gisele Bundchen now worth $430 million, for coming from a humble background to being the most known face in modelling today. I also like Victoria’s secret model Candice Swanepoel from South Africa, who is now ready to be mom and made millions being a supermodel,” she says.

At 21, Ana hopes to complete her studies and is specially fascinated by the Buddhist teachings she was exposed to while living in India. “People won’t remember if you were rich or beautiful or even successful, what they will remember is if you are a good person. So I try and be happy in any given situation,” she smiles.

Hoping to become a psychologist when the lights fade, what remains most difficult for Ana is staying away from home as she misses her three older brothers with whom she is really close. “I talk to them every day, but we all do realise that work is what makes you ready for various challenges that life will throw at you,” she confesses.

If Ana is looking at taking up medicine as a profession, Olivia from Kazakhstan, doesn’t plan for the future, she’d rather let life surprise her. Having worked in Hong Kong for the last five years where she also did a campaign for Victoria’s Secret, she is studying to be a lawyer. “I am not much of a planner, but I do know that I will work hard to get to Milan Fashion Week and walk in Europe for all the big designers,” she concludes.
