Simplicity and elegance was a key theme in the ‘Maharadjah & Co’ collection. Designer’s Rimple and Harpreet Narula took a minimalist
approach to traditional Indian silhouettes, rather than going with over the top embellishments and zardozi chose to use subtle crystals and muted tones.
Inspired by the Indian Maharajas and their travels to the West, the extravagance collection was an amalgamation of western luxury and Eastern style. Motifs, the usage of insignias and textured fabrics were a celebration of royal opulence. Subtle shades of ivory & beige, aged gold thread work, jewelled tones of red in dramatic capes and robes, sheer billowy jackets, regal cloaks and lehengas were a tribute to decadence and indulgence. The ravishing Shilpa Shetty closed the show in a traditional lehenga that showed off her svelte figure.
