Taj Mahal, pearls and crystals brought alive tales of brides who want the glamour with dollops of drama
By Asmita Aggarwal
The beauty of the everlasting monument of love the Taj Mahal juxtaposed with the artisanal creations of Shane and Falguni Peacock made a play for unrestricted glamour.
As their ICW 2021 line Love is…paid homage to the changing colours of love making it as strong as the monument which has been a beacon for many looking at eternal companionship, they added Mughal motifs and a sea of pearls to set the rhythm of the collection.
Belted lehengas, faux feathers exaggerated shoulders and then lovely Shraddha Kapoor playing their muse, the reds made their presence felt in the marbled chambers of the historic architectural marvel.
Net veils peppered with embroidered flowers, sequinned eyes and bare faces told a story of a bride who wants the extravagance of Swarovski crystals, as full sleeve blouses and the shimmering light of silver and gold was an ode to the diligent craftsmanship of West Bengal to Midnapore artisans.
Icy blues to cherry red and cappuccinos, Shane and Falguni had a shade for every mood… just like love.
