FILMY FASHION

Debarun’s fashionable retrospective of style in cinema was a complete
filmy show, much to the delight of his audience.

Models sashayed down the runway to old Hindi scores dressed in typical Bollywood costume attire, complete with accessories evoking bygone eras. Cinema is one of the biggest influencers of Indian fashion and the ensemble’s of leading ladies of the silver screen have captured the imagination of many. From the black and white days to the cinematic colours of the 50s and 60’s, the outfits featured distinctive style, silhouettes and fabrics.

The loud technicolor decades of the 70s and the 80s were represented with shimmery and colourful lehengas, while the final post millennial style was a show of restrained and tempered ensembles. The designer had celebrity Aditi Rao Hydari open the show in the black and white era, while actress Chitrangadha Singh was in show stopper in a bridal lehenga.
