It takes 700-800 workmen to get the show rolling in a matter of 5 days as they work 24X7 before the curtains rise for the biggest fashion extravaganza—-the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week Spring-Summer 2012 with 132 runway and stall designers set to showcase their designs from Oct 6-10. As Hall No. 18 at Pragati Maidan gets an elegant makeover the two MSAs will seat up to 1,200 guests (600 each), but it is undoubtedly the décor that pushes the proverbial style envelope.

“The design is based creating magic with ropes and installations are created with almost 1 lakh meters of rope used ingeniously to create from lamps to stunning objects of art, it is a sight to behold,” says Ramesh Menon, puts the show on the road.

With 48 models divided into three pools, (besides some addition that each designer likes to bring on board) and six choreographers directing them, it is 200 shutterbugs, who are clearing their lenses to capture the best shots. The entire show is run on 10 generators, for light and sound and the sponsor lounges are being spruced up for a fun-filled evening after the shows. There is the Elle, Wills Lifestyle and FDCI Buyers lounge that will see a huge turnout besides restaurants like Smoke House, Olive and FIO. The new addition is Barista Lavazza, which will warm up your balmy morning with a hot cuppa!

The bigger and better event will have the colour theme of white, so you will be greeted by the pristine hue on the first floor, which fills the halls with a positive vibe and the gives the entire showing a cool aura. With the Orissa Government, Ministry of Textiles and also two renowned Dutch designers being a part of the extravaganza, the WIFW just got a regional edge.
